About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Plating Senior / Staff Engineer to lead advanced electroplating operations in a high‑precision manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape plating processes for next‑generation semiconductor and electronics products, working at the forefront of technology and innovation.

You will be responsible for setting up and qualifying new plating lines, optimizing processes for performance and cost efficiency, and ensuring compliance with stringent quality and EHS standards. In addition to technical expertise, you will lead cross‑functional projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with global teams to deliver best‑in‑class plating solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the setup, process characterization, and qualification of new plating lines, including equipment, process, and utilities.
• Provide technical support for NPI, PCN, and ongoing production packages.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure effective training for operators and junior engineering staff.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives focused on bath life extension, spare parts optimization, and chemical usage efficiency.
• Oversee machine qualification and manage project execution to meet ramp‑up schedules and quality objectives.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team including Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Experts, PM Technicians, Chemists, and Lab Technicians.
• Ensure strict compliance with EHS standards and chemical handling regulations.

Job Requirements

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Manufacturing).
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree or certification in electroplating/surface finishing.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in semiconductor or electronics plating processes.
  • Hands‑on experience in plating equipment setup, process optimisation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record in cost reduction and technical problem‑solving.
  • Experience in vendor management and cross‑functional project leadership.
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Technical: Electroplating fundamentals, SPC, DOE, equipment maintenance, bath analytics.
  • Project: Project management, vendor negotiation, cost optimisation.
  • Leadership: Training, mentoring, and effective communication with management and customers.
• Preferred Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, EHS handling.
• Familiarity with quality systems (ISO/IATF) and EHS compliance.
