Operations Manager / General Manager – Manufacturing (Johor)

A leading global packaging and logistics solutions provider is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / General Manager to lead and oversee its manufacturing operations in Johor. This is a pivotal role for a results‑driven leader with solid experience in production management, quality assurance, warehouse operations, and customer service, who is ready to take full ownership of a growing site.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the site’s overall performance, profitability, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, customer expectations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage end-to-end site operations, including Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Customer Service, to ensure seamless day-to-day performance.
  • Drive the site’s profit and loss (P&L) objectives through effective planning, cost management, and process optimization.
  • Oversee production planning, materials management, and capacity utilization to meet customer demand efficiently.
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing principles, such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Just-in-Time (JIT).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485, UN) and all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work closely with sales, finance, sourcing, and regional leadership to achieve both operational and business goals.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, warehouse performance, and logistics flow to support on‑time delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues proactively, maintaining strong customer relationships and service levels.
  • Provide regular operational performance updates and improvement strategies to regional and global management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations or general management, ideally within industrial or packaging environments.
  • Proven leadership ability with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of production systems, quality assurance, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Self‑motivated, hands‑on, and adaptable, capable of leading teams in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
