A prominent energy company in Malaysia is seeking an LPG Plant Manager to oversee operations, ensuring adherence to safety and efficiency standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8 years of experience in LPG plant operations. This role includes P&L accountability, team management, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The LPG Plant Manager will oversee the entirety of our Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant operations in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. This role is central to achieving our strategic objectives, including productivity, maintenance, and safety. You will also be responsible for P&L accountability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and building robust relationships with both our team and customers.
Oversee daily operations of the LPG plant, ensuring adherence to SOPs, and maintaining the highest safety and efficiency standards.
Coordinate with plant personnel to promote optimal productivity, team harmony, and effective maintenance of all plant equipment.
Lead, coach, and develop team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Act as the primary liaison with customers on sales and operation planning, forging strong relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Assume full P&L accountability, focusing on cost optimization and profitability enhancement.
Conduct daily plant inspections, ensuring that all safety systems, including CCTV, are operational and compliant with industry standards.
Verify and monitor daily attendance and wage details of all staff and laborers, and manage leave requests for officers and operators.
Prepare and present monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports to track and improve plant performance.
Act as the primary contact during audits, such as External Safety Audit, Internal Safety Audit, Multi-Disciplinary Team Audit, and Human Research audit.
Facilitate regular meetings with subcontractors, overseeing their day-to-day activities to ensure smooth plant operations.
Conduct regular quality and safety checks, including a daily safety checklist, cylinder checks, and self-safety audits every three months.
Take the lead in emergency response and disaster management planning, ensuring reviews and implementation occur every five years.
Encourage knowledge sharing and inspire the operation and support team to achieve set goals.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Operation Director.
To succeed this role, we will need you to be:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in the oil and gas sector, preferably with a focus on LPG plant operations.
Must excel in both technical and managerial & leadership competencies.
Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-productivity, dynamic environment.
Exceptional analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to perform under pressure.
Outstanding time management skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask effectively.
Prior experience in shift operations and troubleshooting plant machinery.
Willingness to relocate.
