Job summary

A manufacturing company in Malacca is hiring a facilities maintenance engineer. The role involves managing day-to-day operations including HVAC, electrical systems, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, at least three years of relevant experience, and strong CAD drawing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication in English and Malay is essential. Candidates with GMP knowledge will be preferred. Qualifications

• A diploma or degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of plant facilities maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
• Proficient in CAD drawing and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily patrols to ensure compliance with maintenance records and inspections.
• Oversee technicians and contractors to meet delivery schedules.
• Supervise contractor work for quality assurance.
• Handle internal customer issues and provide updates.
• Assist with new or renovation projects and necessary documentation.
• Monitor calibration schedules for equipment and sensors.
• Manage inventory for maintenance spare parts.
• Provide training for technicians.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Patrolling daily to ensure routine maintenance records, inspection checklist, and logbooks are in compliance.
2. To oversee work schedule for technicians and contractors to ensure meet target delivery schedule and meet the requirements.
3. To supervise and verify work done by contractors to ensure the work quality and 5S is performed after work completed.
4. To check and reply internal customer highlighted issue and update the status whenever the issue is close.
5. To support and assist for new project, renovation project and prepare the necessary documents such as reports, proposal, schedule, validation documents, protocol, standard operating procedure and checklist.
6. To prepare CAD drawing and update drawing as per specification and As-Built condition.
7. To assist for troubleshooting problem of equipment, system and identify the root cause, risk and propose solutions for the issue.
8. To monitor and update equipment, sensor, testing instruments calibration schedule and arrange service provider to perform the calibration follow planned schedule.
9. To monitor and update the recertification schedule for cleanroom performance testing (CPT), compressed dry air performance testing and premise inspection and arrange service provider perform the activities follow planned schedule.
10. To monitor on inventory stock for spare‑part and consumable for maintenance purpose.
11. To assist for provide training to technician, prepare training material and monitor training plan.
12. To report upwards for any abnormal conditions / deviation / non‑conformances in timely manner.
13. Any other reasonable duties or project work which may be required by management from time to time.
14. To manage the day‑to‑day operations of facilities including maintenance and repair work as needed for system and equipment’s in the factory :

• HVAC System (Heating & Ventilation Air‑Conditioning)
• Compressed Air System (Compressors, Air Dryer)
• BMS (Building Management System), EMS (Environmental Monitoring System)
• Electrical System
• Communication Network, CCTV & Door Access System (Including Card and Biometric Access)
• Cleanroom
• Water Supply System & Plumbing System
• Building Maintenance
• Fire‑Fighting System and Equipment’s
• Pest Control
• Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS), Schedule waste and Non‑Schedule waste disposal.
• Safety aspect of the entire factory.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent by accredited institutional or universities.
2. Minimum 3 years of working experience in the field of plant facilities maintenance and preferably to have knowledge or experience in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
3. Basic knowledge in EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) regulations and practices.
4. Able to prepare CAD drawing and update as per specification and As‑Built condition.
5. Good in Microsoft office skills such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.
6. Good in English and Malay writing and communication skills.
