Planning Engineer

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for both on-site and off-site activities. This role ensures projects are delivered on time by tracking progress, identifying potential delays, and coordinating closely with site teams, subcontractors, and project management to implement corrective actions where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent planning tools.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term work programmes covering on-site and off-site activities.
  • Monitor actual progress against approved schedules and identify variances.
  • Analyse critical paths and key milestones to ensure timely project completion.
  • Coordinate closely with site engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to align work schedules and activities.
  • Facilitate effective communication between teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports, including dashboards and schedule updates.
  • Highlight delays, risks, and proposed mitigation measures to management.
  • Assist in manpower, material, and equipment planning to meet project timelines.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including schedules, revisions, and supporting documents.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
