Job summary

A prominent cooperative organization in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Planning and Business Intelligence Manager to lead the Project Management Office. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of project management experience and strong knowledge of governance frameworks. Responsibilities include developing project policies, tracking KPIs, and mentoring project teams. This is a strategic position requiring excellent leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in project management.
  • 3-5 years in a managerial or PMO leadership role.
  • PMP or similar professional certification is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple high-impact projects.

PLANNING AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE MANAGER

Lead and manage the overall function of the Project Management Office (PMO).

Develop and enforce project management policies, templates, and governance frameworks.

Conduct research and analysis of market and industry trends, as well as undertake customer analysis; develop and review process restructuring proposals to ensure optimal resource allocation, budget control, risk management, and effective stakeholder communication.

Track project KPIs, performance metrics, and present reports to senior leadership.

Mentor and support project managers and project team members.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations and enhancements to project delivery methods.

Act as the strategic advisor to senior management on project prioritization and alignment with business goals.

Any other matters as required by the CEO/COO.

Background & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferably Master’s Degree / Consulting Experience.

PMP or a similar professional certification is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of project governance frameworks, methodologies (Agile/Waterfall), and best practices.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Professional Experience

At least 8–10 years of experience in project management, with 3–5 years in a managerial or PMO leadership role.

Ability to prioritize, break down complex issues, and reconcile the tension and needs between commercial, operational, and financial requirements.

Proven experience in managing multiple high-impact, cross-functional projects.

Experience in developing and implementing PMO standards, processes, and reporting structures.

Exposure to corporate strategic planning and business transformation initiatives is an advantage.
