A manufacturing company in Sungai Petani, Kedah, is seeking an Operations Manager to develop and execute production schedules based on sales orders and material availability. The successful candidate will coordinate with Production and Warehouse to ensure customer deadlines are met. Responsibilities include managing materials, analyzing capacity utilization, preparing reports, and implementing process improvements. A background in production planning is preferred.
Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales orders, forecasts, and material availability.
Ensure all production plans meet customer deadlines and company quality standards.
Monitor production progress and adjust plans when required to avoid delays.
Coordinate with Production, QC, Warehouse, and Sales to resolve planning conflicts.
Review and manage material requirement planning (MRP) to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging.
Coordinate with Procurement for timely purchase of materials.
Monitor stock levels and ensure safety stock is maintained.
Prevent over-stocking and stock-out situations through effective forecasting.
Analyze production capacity, manpower, machines, and equipment utilization.
Plan and allocate resources effectively to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Propose improvements for process flow, efficiency, and production output.
Lead planning meetings with relevant departments (Production, Sales, QC, Warehouse).
Ensure all departments understand scheduling priorities and workload.
Communicate changes, delays, and planned adjustments promptly.
Prepare production planning reports, capacity analysis, and performance tracking.
Monitor key KPIs (OTD, production output, material shortage, efficiency).
Present weekly/monthly planning performance to management.
Identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
Implement planning SOPs and ensure full compliance.
Participate in process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
