The Physiotherapy and Care Services Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the elder care facility while delivering professional physiotherapy services to residents. This role combines clinical expertise in physiotherapy with managerial responsibilities to ensure high-quality care, compliance, staff performance, and a supportive environment for residents. The position requires strong leadership, clinical competency, and effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Physiotherapy Services:
  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for residents, including mobility, functional ability, physical health, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans aimed at improving strength, balance, mobility, and overall physical well-being.
  • Deliver physiotherapy interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait training, pain management, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
  • Monitor residents progress and adjust treatment plans when necessary.
  • Provide professional advice to caregivers and families on mobility support, safe handling, and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Train care staff on proper transfer methods, fall prevention practices, and use of assistive devices.
  • Maintain accurate physiotherapy records, progress notes, and treatment documentation.
2. Administrative Oversight:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations of the centre.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to residents, staff, and facility operations.
  • Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, payroll coordination, and budget‑related matters.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to meet residents needs effectively.
3. Staff Management:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff members, including nurses, caregivers, therapists, and administrative personnel.
  • Provide continuous training and professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary matters when required.
  • Foster a positive, supportive work culture that encourages teamwork, communication, and mutual respect.
4. Quality of Care:
  • Ensure all residents receive high‑quality, person‑centred care tailored to their individual needs.
  • Plan and oversee programs and activities that support residents physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and address complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and therapists to coordinate comprehensive care.
5. Compliance and Regulation:
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to elder care and therapy services.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements, including licensing, safety, and sanitation.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality assurance.
  • Resolve any areas of non‑compliance promptly and effectively.
6. Financial Management:
  • Assist in preparing and managing the centre’s annual budget, including revenue and expense projections.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost‑control measures when necessary.
  • Review billing, invoicing, and claims related to physiotherapy and care services to ensure accuracy.
7. Community Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and community partners.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the centre and external agencies, healthcare providers, and support organisations.
  • Participate in community outreach and education to promote awareness of elder care and rehabilitation services.
8. Licensing and Compliance:
  • Obtain, maintain, and renew required authority licences for the private elder homes.
  • Ensure timely submission and completeness of all licensing documentation.
9. Operations Management:
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operational functions of the centre to ensure efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor workflow processes and implement improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, facilities, and therapy tools to support safe and smooth operations.
  • Manage inventory levels for medical supplies, physiotherapy equipment, and care‑related resources.
  • Coordinate and optimise resident movement, therapy schedules, and care routines to ensure seamless daily operations.
10. General Support:
  • Assist with any ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the direct superior.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the General Manager and monthly meetings with the Director to review progress, highlight challenges, and plan strategic improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Experience in geriatric physiotherapy is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for elderly care, mobility improvement, and fall prevention.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team‑management skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to work effectively with elderly residents.
Additional Competencies:
  • Ability to create care plans tailored to elderly conditions (stroke, arthritis, dementia, post‑operative care).
  • Strong decision‑making and organisational skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior therapists.
  • Familiar with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is an advantage.

Job Types: Full‑time, Permanent

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
