Job description

This is a Physical Education teaching position focused on delivering energetic, well-structured PE and physical activity lessons to primary students. You will manage gymnasiums, sports fields, and swimming pools while ensuring student safety, skill development, and positive behavior. The role involves supervising students during PE classes and transitions, responding to minor injuries, and supporting department events and sports competitions.

Key responsibilities

Deliver energetic, well-structured PE and physical activity lessons to students in accordance with lesson plans or established department curricula

Adapt teaching methods dynamically to suit varying age groups, individual student needs, skill levels, and weather conditions

Ensure active participation, skill development, and good sportsmanship among students during physical activities

Maintain strong discipline, positive behavior management, and a supportive learning environment in gymnasiums, sports fields, and swimming pools

Enforce strict safety guidelines and proper usage of all athletic facilities and sports equipment

Conduct daily safety checks on sports facilities and report damaged equipment or safety hazards immediately

Supervise students during PE classes, changing room transitions, breaks, and sports field movements

Respond promptly and calmly to minor student injuries, following school protocol for first aid and incident reporting

Assist with organizing, setting up, and execution of sports days, swimming galas, co-curricular sports activities, and inter-house competitions

Maintain and organize PE equipment stores, ensuring gear is accounted for, clean, and properly stored after use

About you

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching physical education or sports coaching, preferably in an international school setting

Proven experience managing groups of young learners in diverse physical activities and sports environments

Demonstrated ability to follow, adapt, and deliver existing curriculum plans

Strong knowledge of primary PE curricula, physical development milestones, and fundamental movement skills

Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills tailored to young children

Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, or a related field

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Specialized coaching certifications (e.g., swimming, primary sports coaching) are highly desirable
