A healthcare provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a qualified pharmacist to manage pharmacy operations, provide medication information, and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws. Responsibilities include medication dispensing, patient counseling, and staff training. The ideal candidate holds a Degree in Pharmacy, possesses relevant experience, and is a registered pharmacist. Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
To maintains pharmacy services in accordance with UKM Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd policies and standards as well as MOH regulations.
Ensure prescription directions for use, doses, medications instructions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information and age specific dosage.
Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff/clinic assistant.
Provide medication information and medication therapy guidelines to the clinical staff as required.
Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications ie drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
Review patients profiles at the time of dispensing order and to closely monitor medication therapy.
Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities.
Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability.
Provide medication and healthcare related in service training to clinical staff on new medications on the market, appropriate use of medications and comparisons of current medication therapies.
Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security.
Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics.
Document significant medication interactions, and pharmacy interactions with prescribers.
Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly.
Ensure that work areas are clean and safe according to applicable regulations
Assist & advice management to formulate strategies and plans in the area of business development of Pharmacy UKM Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd, thereafter monitor the implementation and review the effectiveness of those strategy and plans against the Company’s direction and objectives.
Monitor sales volume and contribution potential of all brands/products to ensure that marketing plans are soundly based and promotional funds allocated accordingly.
To implement creative and effective promotions/marketing activities undertaken so as to ensure that volume, market share and profitability targets are met.
Effectively manage the inter-relationships of customers, internal and external vendors in the Company’s process units so as to create good working interface amongst the different parties and ensure the smooth implementation of business transactions
To train, coach, develop and motivate all direct reports staff so as to maximize their potential for better contribution to the objectives of the sector and the organization.
Identify staff area for improvement and plan for relevant development program and collaborate with HR Department for execution.
Monthly meeting with pharmacy team to identify and rectify issues amicably.
To prepare monthly reports highlighting any variance on volume, profit and promotional expenditure against the original business plan so as to ensure the achievement of sector targets within the budgeted resources.
Degree in Pharmacy
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy
Registered Pharmacist with the Malaysian Board of Pharmacy.
Possess a poison license (License A) to practice in the hospital pharmacy premises.
Familiar with hospital practices, guidelines, and regulations in relation to compounding and apportioning medications.
Adequate knowledge of business in relation to the organization of a hospital pharmacy.
Able to work independently.
Able to lead the team and work under pressure with minimum supervision
Good communication and interpersonal skills
