Job summary

A technology consultancy based in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Performance Tester to take responsibility for Performance Engineering and Testing tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, specifically in Java or similar languages, along with extensive experience in using performance tools like LoadRunner and JMeter. Candidates with a background in Banking performance testing will have an added advantage. This role involves creating performance test scripts, troubleshooting test execution issues, and coordinating with teams for performance monitoring.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility of Performance Engineering and Performance Testing Tasks
• Creating performance test scripts based on identified scenarios and optimize performance runs to maximize test execution time
• Troubleshooting issues during test script execution
• Ability to construct performance test scripts in Java or other languages to create data load either by inserting/reading data directly to MQ or create data files for load in the event the same cannot be done through LoadRunner
• Coordinate with other teams to support monitoring and analysis of performance test runs
• Development of Performance Test Plans, Status Reporting, Test Readiness Reviews and Post-Implementation Reviews as appropriate
• Strong knowledge of performance tools
• In-depth knowledge of different types of performance tests e.g. Reliability, Stress, Smoke etc.
• Knowledge on scripting languages

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent
• At least 3 – 5 years of working experience as a Quality Assurance tester with focus on Performance Testing (hands-on experience script creation, execution and troubleshooting)
• Experience in performing performance test for Banking industry is an added advantage
• Strong experience in using test tools like HP LoadRunner, HP SiteScope, HP Diagnostics, JMeter or any Performance Testing Tools
• Strong programming background (C, Java, and VB scripts)
• Experience in performing different types of performance testing including load test, stress test, volume test, and endurance test
• Experience doing performance testing on any applications or software
• Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices
• Experience with one or more coding languages (Java/JavaScript/Perl) with some development background will be an advantage
