The Role: Strategic Planner & Performance Driver
We are looking for a results-driven Performance Media Strategist (sometimes known as a Media Strategist or Digital Planner) to join our team. This role is crucial for maximizing client ROI by translating business objectives into high-performing digital advertising campaigns. You will own the media lifecycle, from pitching and proposal creation to hands‑on ad execution, daily optimization, and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Strategy & Pitching (The Architect)
- Lead media proposal development based on client business objectives, requirements, and budget.
- Design the complete media journey, proposing optimal channels (e.g., Google, Meta, TikTok), strategy, and media plans.
- Define clear, achievable KPIs and prepare comprehensive budget allocations to ensure proposals are competitive and client-focused.
- Capture, refine, and finalize proposals based on internal and client feedback, ready for pitch presentation.
Client Onboarding & Execution (The Executor)
- Own the client onboarding process, confirming alignment on objectives, budget, KPI, and project duration post-proposal.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, securing necessary ad account access and gathering monthly product focus information.
- Develop detailed Content & Media Plans, defining content pillars, format, objectives, and specific media strategies.
- Coordinate with the production team, providing clear content direction, ideation, and key messaging.
- Manage client feedback and approvals for both content and media plans to ensure timely launch.
Performance Management & Optimization
- Execute hands‑on ad setup (ad objective, budget, targeting, placement) with rigorous quality control checks (no typos, correct visuals, matching copy).
- Perform daily ads monitoring and rapidly optimize campaign performance when results deviates from expectations.
- Provide urgent responses to client inquiries, ad‑hoc tasks, amendments, and media‑related dilemmas.
- Actively propose new services and strategic solutions to clients to foster long‑term account growth.
Reporting & Collaboration (The Analyst)
- Prepare comprehensive monthly performance reports for each client/brand according to strict reporting timelines.
- Provide actionable insights and data‑driven recommendations for campaign improvement during internal and client review meetings.
- Coordinate weekly work‑in progress meetings and monthly performance reviews with the HOD and Media Team Lead.
- Maintain strong inter‑departmental collaboration to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications:
What You MUST Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in digital ads planning, media strategy, or performance marketing, ideally within an agency environment.
- Proven work experience as a Performance Marketing / Media Strategist or equivalent.
- Hands‑on expertise in major social media and ad platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.).
- Strong understanding of digital analytics software (Google Analytics, ad servers, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and a critical thinker with strong time‑management skills.
Bonus Points
- Experience in leading and managing various cross‑department teams.
- Extensive client servicing experience and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings or briefings when necessary.
