Job summary

Air Liquide Business Services Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Performance Analytics Engineer to drive plant performance and optimization across the East Asia Pacific cluster. You will monitor operations, implement advanced analytics, and support continuity during plant upsets, partnering with site teams and SMEs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with strong data analytics and process control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plant Performance & Process Optimization: Analyze airgas plant operations, eliminate bottlenecks, minimize operational waste, and implement MPC/MVS strategies.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Conduct daily monitoring, resolve operational deviations, perform RCA, and lead troubleshooting reviews with site teams.
• Crisis Management & Continuity: Support pre-/post-crisis operations during plant upsets or trips, provide operational guidance and ensure business continuity.
• Operational Excellence & Digitalization: Deploy Liquid Mass Balance tools, drive CI projects, and standardize digital dashboards and SOPs.

The Performance Analytics Engineer drives operational excellence across the East Asia Pacific cluster by leveraging advanced data analytics, automated operating models, and diagnostic tools to maximize plant uptime and efficiency. Acting as a key bridge between the Remote Operations Control Center and site teams, this role proactively monitors critical equipment, mitigates production deviations, and optimizes plant performance to achieve the Best Economical Point.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

• Plant Performance & Process Optimization: Analyze airgas plant operations, eliminate bottlenecks, minimize operational waste (flaring/venting/power loss), and execute Model Predictive Control (MPC/MVS) strategies.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Conduct daily monitoring, resolve operational deviations, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and lead regular troubleshooting reviews with site teams and SMEs.
• Crisis Management & Continuity: Support pre-/post-crisis operations during plant upsets or trips, provide operational guidance, and ensure business continuity.
• Operational Excellence & Digitalization: Deploy Liquid Mass Balance (LMB) tools, drive Continuous Improvement Projects (C-IMP), and standardize digital dashboards and SOPs.

Are you a MATCH?

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience in plant operations or process engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in ASU processes, process control/DCS, and data analytics.
• Knowledge of Bulk-On Site or Electronics (TGCM) business models is preferred.
• Fluent in English, strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills, and willingness to respond beyond standard working hours during plant emergencies.
