Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Solar Technician in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. The role involves hands-on maintenance of solar panels, inverters, and related components, with a focus on safety and compliance. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and keep precise records of all service activities.

Requirements include a Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent, 1–2 years of relevant experience, and willingness to travel. WAH and PW4/CIDB credentials are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in Solar Energy Industry is a plus.
• WAH (Working at Height) certificate and CIDB will be added advantage.
• PW4 certification will be added advantage.
• Own transport and willing to travel heavily.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on solar panels, inverters, and other system components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as electrical faults, panel malfunctions, and inverter failures.
• Replace faulty components, including wiring, panels, or inverters, as needed.
• Clean and inspect solar panels to remove dirt, debris, and other obstructions that could affect performance.
• Inspect electrical components for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage.
• Diagnose and address operational issues, such as poor energy production or electrical faults.
• Collaborate with team members and engineers to resolve complex technical problems.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and performance data.
• Document and update technical issues and solutions for future reference.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety protocols when working with electrical systems, high-voltage equipment, and ladders.
• Perform work in accordance with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
• Install upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency or capacity of solar systems.
• To supervise the works of contractors where required.
• Any other ad-hoc duties related to solar as assigned.
