Job summary

Prudential Malaysia is seeking an IT Governance Intern to support the IT Governance and Technology Risk team. The role involves assisting with governance policies, risk tracking, audits, and reporting using Excel and Power BI.

You will help document processes, maintain repositories, and contribute to continuous improvement across technology initiatives, while learning regulatory requirements and governance standards in a dynamic financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with IT governance or risk management is a plus.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks and regulatory considerations is desirable.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and maintaining IT governance policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Support governance assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor governance-related activities and maintain governance repositories.
• Assist in maintaining technology risk registers and issue logs.
• Prepare governance dashboards, reports, and presentations using Excel/Power BI.
• Support project governance reviews for ongoing technology initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve governance processes and reporting efficiency.

The intern assists in governance reporting, documentation, risk tracking, audit preparation, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives.## Key Responsibilities ### Governance & Compliance* Assist in reviewing and maintaining IT governance policies, procedures, and documentation.* Support governance assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.* Monitor and track governance-related activities, actions, and compliance obligations.* Maintain governance repositories and ensure documentation is up to date. ### Technology Risk Management* Assist in maintaining technology risk registers and issue logs.* Support risk assessment activities and control reviews.* Monitor progress of risk mitigation and remediation actions.* Prepare supporting documentation for risk reporting. ### Audit & Control Management* Support internal and external audit activities by gathering and organising required evidence.* Track audit findings and follow-up actions.* Assist stakeholders in documenting remediation plans and closure evidence.* Monitor audit action status and provide updates to the governance team. ### Reporting & Analytics* Prepare governance dashboards, reports, and presentations for management review.* Consolidate and analyse governance metrics and key risk indicators.* Support reporting for governance committees and management forums.* Assist in developing reports using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools. ### Project Governance Support* Assist in monitoring compliance with project governance requirements.* Review project documentation to ensure completeness and alignment with governance standards.* Support governance reviews for ongoing technology initiatives. ### Continuous Improvement* Identify opportunities to improve governance processes and reporting efficiency.* Support process documentation, workflow mapping, and standardisation initiatives.* Conduct research on industry best practices, governance frameworks, and regulatory developments. **Prudential is an equal opportunity employer.** We provide equality of opportunity of benefits for all who apply and who perform work for our organisation irrespective of sex, race, age, ethnic origin, educational, social and cultural background, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, disability or part-time / fixed-term work, or any other status protected by applicable law.
