Partnerships & Business Development Manager
We are representing our client, a new start‑up in Malaysia that operates a Loan‑Matching Platform, in their search for a Partnerships & Business Development Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Independently prospect, engage and secure partnership agreements with Malaysian banks and licensed money‑lenders, to integrate with the company platform
- Build the pipeline of institutional partner leads, develop business cases, negotiate terms, close deals, and onboard partners to live‑status
- Manage end‑to‑end partner lifecycle: from engagement to onboarding to activation to growth and retention
- Work cross‑functionally with product, operations, marketing, compliance teams to ensure seamless partner integration and performance
- Set and monitor partner KPIs (loan flow volumes, partner growth, partner satisfaction metrics) and deliver results against targets
- Represent the company at industry events, build the brand in the finance/lending ecosystem, and maintain high credibility with partner stakeholders
- Continuously map the Malaysian banking and licensed‑lender ecosystem, identify new opportunities and competitive threats, and advise senior management on strategic partnership growth
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in any related fields
- Minimum 5 years of business development or strategic partnerships experience in financial services/fintech in Malaysia (or comparable market)
- Demonstrable track record of closing partnerships or collaborations with Malaysian banks and/or licensed money‑lenders
- Established network of senior decision‑makers (VP / Head Partnerships / BD) in Malaysian banks or licensed money‑lenders
- Commercial and strategic thinking: understands business models, financial metrics, partner economics, and regulatory/compliance context in banking/lending
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills, especially at institutional level
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin / Cantonese to effectively communicate with Mandarin/Cantonese‑speaking clients.
