Job Summary
CNC Operator ensures products meet quality and safety standards. Responsible for tool setup and performing inspections and measurements before release to production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CNC router, milling & turning machine skilfully, ensuring daily output target and manufacturing quality.
- Test‑run the CNC machines for next work order.
- Based on tool list, replace cutting tools with tool length setup.
- Daily maintenance of CNC machine and adhere to maintenance procedure.
- Operate and maintain jigs and fixtures.
- Workpiece loading / unloading as per work instruction.
- Follow and adhere to CNC manufacturing schedule.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications and database software.
- Must be computer literate.
- Basic math abilities.
- Must be able to read and apply production instructions, drawings, and specifications at a proficient level.
- Intermediate level of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance), capable of independently interpreting and applying GD&T daily.
- Intermediate level for mechanical measurement techniques and workmanship standards related to machining and basic knowledge of polishing, cosmetic touch‑up and ability to operate conventional mill, drill, lathe and pedestal grinders.
- Able to read and interpret specifications, standards and engineering drawings/blueprints.
- Proficiency using handheld tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, profile projector, surface roughness and other measuring and test equipment).
Educational/Certification Requirement
- Certificate in Mechanical/Technical, cert in Machining/Vocational School or above.
- Tooling or mechanical major.
Experience Requirement
- 3 years working in a machine shop (semi‑conductor and/or machining).
- Operating CNC machines with minimum supervision.
- Familiar with operating and maintenance CNC router, milling and turning machine.
- Familiar with tool structure and drawing.
- Familiar with CNC manufacturing process.
- Work in plastic machining field is an advantage.
- Able to carry heavy loads (up to 20 kg).
- Must be willing to work on the production floor and relevant process area based on task assigned.
- Must be willing to work shift work and OT if required.
- Good attitude and willing to learn new knowledge.
