Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Senai, Johor, is seeking an Operation Engineering Manager (SMT) to lead assembly operations, set policies, and drive operational excellence.

You will oversee staffing, inventory, quality checks, and cross-site collaboration while ensuring ISO and safety standards are met; a degree and 10+ years' experience in related fields are required. You will implement HR strategies, mentor the operations team, and report to senior management in weekly reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in related discipline and at least 10 years in the field.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic operational processes and resources to achieve operational excellence.
• Staffing and inventory management.
• Oversee assembly operations to meet KOI.
• Supervise production staff on work methods and quality checkpoints.
• Coordinate with other departments and Flex sites to drive excellence.
• Establish procurement, production and engineering policies and practices.
• Ensure ISO and safety standards are adhered to.
• Report to Senior Management in weekly operations reviews.
• Coach and mentor Operations team.
• Apply industry practices to internal systems and processes.
• Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Job Summary

What a typical day looks like:

• Responsible for effectively managing all strategic operational processes and resources and managing an organization in order to achieve and maintain operational excellence.
• Manage appropriate staffing and inventory levels.
• Oversee the assembly operations to meet corporate KOI.
• Supervise production staff on work method and quality checkpoints.
• Coordinate with other departments and other Flex sites to drive for excellence.
• Coordinate efforts of operations team by establishing procurement, production and engineering services policies and practices.
• Ensure ISO and safety standards are adhered to.
• Report to Senior Management team in weekly operations reviews.
• Coach and mentor Operations team.
• Leverage industry practices and apply to internal systems and processes.
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Possesses a Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
