Office Support Assistant (Pantry & Refreshment Services)
To assist and provide efficient and courteous food and beverage (F&B) services to MCMC staff, management, and guests, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and a well-maintained environment in dining and meeting areas.
Responsibilities
- Internal Food & Beverage Service: Receive and organize food and beverage orders requested by MCMC staff; prepare and serve beverages and refreshments in meeting rooms as required; ensure all beverages and cutlery are prepared and presented in a timely and professional manner.
- Meeting and Dining Room Setup: Set up dining and meeting rooms for management and stakeholder meetings (e.g., Management Committee Meeting, Commission Meeting) and other high-level sessions; maintain the cleanliness and readiness of all F&B and meeting areas before, during, and after use.
- Cleaning and Hygiene Maintenance: Clear, wash, and store all cutlery, dishes, and utensils after meetings and events; uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all F&B preparation and service areas.
- Stock Management: Record, monitor, and maintain adequate stock levels of condiments, beverages, and cutlery items; notify Head of Department of any replenishment needs in advance.
- Vendor and Quality Coordination: Monitor and follow up with caterers to ensure the quality and timeliness of all food and beverage deliveries; provide feedback to the Head of Department on any issues related to service quality.
- Supervision and Coordination: Liaise, train, supervise, and monitor other tea ladies appointed by Facilities Management to ensure consistent service standards; support the Department in any F&B-related tasks or initiatives.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report to the Head of Department about any maintenance or repair needs identified in dining or meeting rooms promptly.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Minimum of secondary education (SPM or equivalent).
- At least 1 year experience in hospitality, catering, or office support roles.
- Good interpersonal skills and a courteous attitude.
- Commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and professional service.
- Basic computer knowledge is an advantage.
- Food & Beverage preparation — basic knowledge of preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, snacks, and light refreshments.
- Cleaning and sanitation techniques — proper methods for washing, sterilizing, and maintaining utensils, crockery, and service areas.
- Inventory management — ability to record, monitor, and manage stock levels of beverages, condiments, and cutlery efficiently.
- Teamwork and reliability — works well with others and consistently delivers assigned tasks responsibly.
- Basic computer system skills — able to check online orders, reply to emails, and input stock management data.
