Job summary

OSRAM OS Penang is seeking an experienced Senior Process/Manufacturing Engineer to drive new product introduction readiness and cost-effective manufacturing ramps. You will oversee cross-functional collaboration with R&D and operations to ensure flawless handoffs and robust process handshakes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or engineering/science degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in LED manufacturing or semiconductors.
• Experience in LED/IC packaging processes and integration.
• Proven ability to lead engineers and technicians.
• Knowledge of semiconductor and LED characteristics, NPI management, packaging, testing.
• Familiar with Minitab and Six Sigma tools; strong analytical and 8D problem solving.
• Multilingual: English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Govern and participate in early NPI for cost/quality/manufacturability and handover to operations.
• Drive cost-down improvements and manage change projects.
• Participate in early involvement for start-up of new product development with R&D.
• Lead risk and manufacturability assessments; ensure smooth handoff to manufacturing.
• Lead ongoing cost-down, productivity and quality improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate qualification of alternative packaging materials and material-change risk assessments.
