Job summary

CrowdGen is seeking Mandarin Chinese voice contributors for Project Melora. Record short, unscripted calls in a simulated banking/telco context, using fake data. Sessions are QA-reviewed and paid per completed session.

Workers operate remotely, on their own schedule, with a simple 6-step call flow and NDA compliance. Aimed at reliable, detail-focused native speakers with a quiet recording space.

Qualifications

• Native Mandarin Chinese speaker, 18+.
• Ability to read and follow short instructions in Mandarin Chinese.
• Own an iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, or 17 Pro Max.
• Have a quiet indoor space to record.
• Can complete 4-10 calls, 1-2 minutes each.
• Spread calls out across days with gaps.
• Improvise a natural, unscripted call following a 6-step flow.
• Use only fake names and numbers.
• Willing to be recorded and sign NDA.

Job description

Join Project Melora - Mandarin Chinese Voice Recording ($2.8-$7.00)

Help build more natural voice AI by recording short, one-sided phone calls in Mandarin Chinese. Imagine you're calling a bank, telco, or retailer for help, and speak naturally using made-up details. Each session takes only a few minutes.

Requirements

• Native Mandarin Chinese speaker, 18+
• Can read and follow short instructions in Mandarin Chinese
• Own an iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, or 17 Pro Max
• Have a quiet indoor space to record (no TV, traffic, fans, or other voices)
• Can complete 4-10 calls, each 1-2 minutes (5 minutes max)
• Can spread calls out: no more than 3 per day, at least 3 hours apart, at different times of day across several days
• Comfortable improvising a natural, unscripted call that follows a 6-step flow: greeting, ID verification, describing the issue, pausing for the agent's reply, resolution, and closing
• Will use only fake names and account or order numbers (no real personal information)
• Willing to be recorded, give recorded consent, sign an NDA, and follow project guidelines

How It Works

• Record solo calls on our secure platform. No second person is needed; pause where the agent would respond.
• Submit basic metadata after each call.

Pay

• Pay: $0.70 per QA-approved session
• You need at least 4 approved sessions to be paid ($2.8), and you can do up to 10 ($7.00).
• Sessions that fail QA don't count toward payment.
• We recommend doing all 10 to get the full payout.
• 0 to 3 sessions and QA-failed sessions are not paid.

This project follows a first-come, first-served approach and operates with demographic quotas to ensure fair and balanced representation across all participant groups. As a result, some individuals may not receive a task assignment if their group has already been filled.

This role is a project-based opportunity with CrowdGen, where you will join the CrowdGen Community as an Independent Contractor. If selected, you will receive an email from CrowdGen regarding the creation of an account using your application email address. You will need to log in to this account and reset the password, complete the setup requirements, and proceed with your application for this project-based role.
