Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Welder and Lathe Machinist to perform MIG welding, set up and operate lathe machines, and read engineering drawings.

You will inspect parts, conduct basic maintenance, and ensure all work meets production targets while following safety procedures in a workshop environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a welder and lathe machine operator.
• Skilled in MIG welding techniques.
• Knowledge of lathe machine operations and machining processes.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.)
• Good physical condition and hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks (MIG) according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain lathe machines for turning, drilling, and threading operations.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Measure and inspect finished products to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
• Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment and lathe machines.
• Ensure all work is completed within given timelines and production targets.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area.
• Assist in fabrication, modification, and repair of metal parts and structures.
