HF Markets in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a competent Mid-Level Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain Python backend applications, delivering scalable solutions for trading platforms and internal tools.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, write clean, testable code, and contribute to architecture decisions while growing your expertise with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and modern CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in software development.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Fluency with Git.
• Native proficiency in English.

We are searching for an enthusiastic and committed Mid-Level Software Developer to join our dynamic team at HFM.

We are looking for a candidate with a proactive mindset and the ability to tackle challenges effectively.

Your role at HFM:

• Design, develop, and maintain Python backend applications.
• Write clean, reusable, testable, and efficient code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and release new features.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing.
• Identify and suggest ways to improve existing codebase.

Requirements

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in software development.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Fluency with Git.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.
• Native proficiency in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Python backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django REST Framework (FastAPI is the primary framework for our APIs).
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline and related workflows.
• Familiarity with ORM-Repository patterns (SQLAlchemy, SQLModel)
• Basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes concepts.

Our Tech Stack:

Our main programming language is Python. We are primarily using FastAPI, Pydantic and SQLAlchemy. Our main datastore is MariaDB (Galera cluster), but we are also using MongoDB, Redis and RabbitMQ as a message broker. Our applications are deployed on Kubernetes clusters through Jenkins pipelines and we are using Prometheus and Open Telemetry for enhanced observability.
