Job summary

A leading retail company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Merchandiser/Buyer for foodline, softline, and hardline products. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, planning sales targets, and supporting store operations. Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a degree in any field. Own transport is required, and the working location is in Maluri, Cheras.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, or Master’s Degree in any field.
  • At least 3 years of working experience as a buyer/merchandiser or equivalent.
  • Customer focused with strong oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/influence and be a team player.
  • Ability to manage complex and competing priorities while building strategies to improve results.
  • Possess own transport and able to work in Maluri, Cheras.

  • Identify potential products to be developed in the assigned category.
  • Prepare monthly reviews and provide counter‑measure actions.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for best supply & support.
  • Discuss new item innovation, promotions, and purchasing with suppliers.
  • Plan weekly target sales and quantity allocation for stores.
  • Provide day-to-day operational issue support.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly sales reviews and develop counter-measures.
  • Plan weekly store ordering schedules.
  • Prepare layout and equipment for new store openings.
  • Check execution of monthly promotion plans.
  • Provide sales counter-measures as necessary.
  • Visit stores to inspect conditions.
  • Support special projects to improve department sales.

  • Plan weekly target sales and quantity allocation for stores, and create weekly production plans.
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational issue support to smoothen operational tasks.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly sales reviews and develop counter‑measures, including store best practices.
  • Plan weekly store ordering schedules.
  • Prepare layout and equipment for new store openings and renovations.
  • Check execution of monthly promotion plans.
  • Provide sales counter‑measures as and when necessary.
  • Visit stores to inspect the selling floor and backroom conditions.
  • Support special projects to improve department sales and activities.
Requirements
