Job summary

MAP Active Asia is seeking a Merchandising Planner to lead brand MPLAN planning, forecast demand and inventory, and support the Merchandising Team with data-driven recommendations.

Candidate should have a minimum Bachelor's degree and about 5 years of related experience in Retail/ Merchandising/ Planning, with strong analytical capabilities and comfort with large data volumes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above from a reputable university.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with ability to handle large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Plan and control the product range to achieve margin and healthy inventory flow.
• Forecast sales, inventory, and buying at article level through rolling forecast for best-seller availability.
• Analyse historical sales by attributes and size to inform assortment decisions.
• Review Buying Plan for appropriate depth and breadth and participate in weekly brand meetings.
• Provide ad hoc analyses for Merchandising and monitor incoming goods and allocation to ensure timely arrival and correct door distribution.

Job description

Responsible for planning and controlling the product range to achieve good margin, healthy inventory flow, and stock levels.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare brand annual MPLAN aligned with company financial directions
• Forecast sales, inventory, and buying at article level through rolling forecast to ensure availability of best-selling products
• Analyse historical sales by attributes and size to provide accurate recommendations to the Merchandising Team on variety, depth, and incoming flow
• Review Buying Plan to ensure proper depth and breadth
• Participate in Weekly Brand Meeting to discuss and help resolve Merchandising Team issues
• Prepare ad hoc analysis related to Merchandising
• Monitor incoming goods (GR) and review allocation to ensure timely arrival and correct door distribution, by checking initial allocation plans and reviewing inventory level, sales, aging stock, and inventory by discount bucket
• Identify potential brand issues, evaluate SKU performance, in-season sell-through, and margin
• Train Junior Merchandise Planning staff to improve their planning and forecasting skills
• Minimum Bachelor's degree from a reputable university
• 5 years of related experience, preferably in Retail / Merchandising / Planning
• Good analytical skills
• Comfortable working with large volumes of data
