Are you passionate about scientific communication and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals? Do you want to contribute to improve patient outcomes in the areas of diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases? Novo Nordisk Malaysia is looking for a Medical Scientific Liaison, who will be responsible to contribute actively to building and maintaining scientific understanding of Novo Nordisk portfolio of products and related diseases.

Your new role

The Medical Scientific Liaison position will give you the opportunity to contribute actively to building and maintaining scientific understanding of Novo Nordisk portfolio of products and related diseases. Other responsibilities are included but not limited to:

  • Share up-to-date medical knowledge and clinical trial data with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, evidence-based messaging.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and other healthcare decision-makers through scientific engagement.
  • Present complex clinical data clearly at meetings, advisory boards, and conferences to inform clinical practice and support scientific exchange.
  • Coordinate and deliver educational programmes and workshops for internal staff to enhance understanding of scientific data and ensure effective training.
  • Conduct needs assessments and stakeholder analyses to tailor scientific support and communications to the specific requirements of HCPs and internal teams.
  • Translate and disseminate scientific and clinical insights into actionable recommendations that support improved patient outcomes and clinical decision‑making.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with medical affairs, commercial, and regulatory teams to align scientific activities, feedback collection, and implementation of medical strategies.
Your new department

You will be joining the Clinical, Medical & Regulatory department at Novo Nordisk. The Clinical Medical and Regulatory (CMR) department is one of the key functions that enables the business strategy through effective execution of functional goals, in the areas of Clinical Research, Medical Affairs and Regulatory. This full‑time permanent position responsible for the Cardiometabolic portfolio is based at Kuala Lumpur and reports directly to the Medical Scientific Liaison Manager. This dynamic team is devoted to ensuring regulatory compliance for new products and product amendments, safeguarding patient safety, and maintaining our license to operate.

Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for a candidate who will appreciate working in a high‑paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring with you:

  • MD or Doctoral Degree preferably in Medicine/Pharmacology & Therapeutics. PharmD and master’s degree will also be considered.
  • 0 – 3 years of experience in medical affairs department of a pharmaceutical industry or in similar profile.
  • Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred.
  • Experiences in the areas of obesity or diabetes will be a plus.
  • Displays business acumen or knowledge based on experiences such as participation in formulary process decisions with strong communication and presentation skills.
