Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Mechanical Equipment Engineer in Malaysia. You will contribute to design and engineer reliable, cost-effective and safe mechanical equipment for offshore projects, aligning with international codes and SBM standards.

You will collaborate with a global team, plan activities, manage interfaces, and coordinate with vendors to ensure delivery within contractual requirements and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design of equipment used in offshore or related industries.
• Ability to apply engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Knowledge of reliability, operability and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Select methods and procedures and optimize designs per specifications.
• Plan and deliver activities within agreed time frames and ensure interfaces.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors per contractual requirements.
• Ensure scope of work complies with SBM internal standards and contracts.

• The Engineer's purpose is to contribute to design and engineer reliable, cost-effective, and safe engineering solutions that support the projects and the organization's operational and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
