Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop antennas for our two-way radios. You will perform simulations, 3D modeling, and testing to ensure robust, reliable products while meeting regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates bring a strong background in mechanical design, CAD, and RF equipment, with 3+ years of relevant experience. Work will be collaborative across cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment in Penang, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical/related field.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling.
• Ability to prepare mechanical prints and drawings with specs and testing requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of material properties.
• Familiar with RF equipment (CMW, spectrum analyzer).
• Good teamwork and communications; cross-functional collaboration.

Department Overview

Advanced Technology Job Description Responsible for the design and development of two-way radios' antennas to be used by all products. Mechanical design, simulation, optimization, validation and test activities associated with the antenna development will be required to ensure products compliance to reliability and regulatory standards.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above majoring in Mechanics and Forces, Thermal and Fluids, Control System or similar related areas.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanical design.
• Experienced with mechanical simulations eg. CAD, 3D modeling, etc.
• Preparing mechanical prints and drawings with specifications and testing requirements.
• Well versed in analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of material properties.
• Familiar with RF equipment such as CMW, network analyzer and spectrum analyzer.
• Good team spirit, good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work well with cross-functional teams.
