Job description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support all mechanical engineering and design activities for the Sg. Rasau WTP project. Scope includes MSCL interconnecting pipelines, DICL non-potable water (NPW) system, stainless steel and uPVC sampling pipelines, chlorine dosing system, H2O2 dosing system, and residual sludge handling system. The position ensures all design deliverables and technical coordination comply with project specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review P&IDs, GA drawings, isometric drawings, and mechanical layouts.
• Develop design details for MSCL, DICL, SS and uPVC piping systems.
• Prepare shop drawings, technical submissions, method statements, and RFIs/TQs.
• Coordinate technical matters with civil, electrical, instrumentation teams, and equipment vendors.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure proper design integration with project systems.
• Support engineering documentation, material approvals, as as-built preparation.
• Provide technical inputs for planning, procurement, and project reporting.
• Any other duties/tasks assigned at other project site from time to time.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word & Excel for reporting and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of MSCL, DICL, stainless steel, and uPVC piping design requirements and installation.
• Able to read P&ID, isometric drawings, and GA drawings.
• Able to work under pressure, fast paced project environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills.
• Possess own transportation for site movement.
