Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Construction Manager based in Penang with 10+ years in industrial construction, preferably pharma, semiconductor, cleanroom or related facilities. You will oversee on-site construction activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors, and ensure safety, schedule and quality align with client and HSE requirements.

• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, vendors and site teams for safe, efficient execution.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety and productivity against project requirements.
• Manage installation and commissioning readiness for HVAC, fire protection, plumbing and utilities.
• Review work packs, method statements and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations and commissioning to resolve issues.
• Monitor and report progress, risks and site issues to the Project Manager.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, client requirements, quality standards and HSE.
• Support testing, commissioning, punch lists and handover activities.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with over 10 years of industrial construction experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, cleanroom, or similar industrial facilities. Based in Penang, this role is responsible for overseeing site construction activities, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in compliance with client and HSE requirements.

Your role

• Report directly to the Project Manager and support overall project delivery.
• Manage and oversee all construction activities on site.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and productivity against project requirements.
• Manage installation and commissioning readiness for HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, utilities, and related mechanical systems.
• Review construction work packs, method statements and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, and commissioning teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
• Monitor and report project progress, risks, and site issues to the Project Manager.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, punch list management, and project handover activities.

About you

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction projects.
• Strong construction and site execution background.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial facilities.
• Hands-on experience in HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and utility systems.
• Process gas experience is an added advantage.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Based in Penang.
• Immediate availability preferred.
