ME Engineer (SMT Programmer)

Job summary

The Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd Product Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, support, training, and troubleshooting of the assigned manufacturing process at the site. This role leads process improvements and acts as a leader within the engineering team to ensure excellence in the manufacturing process.

You will work to improve yield, apply advanced manufacturing technologies, and support ME to achieve FPY targets while maintaining safety and following company policies.

Qualifications

• Requires Advanced Diploma, Bachelors, or Masters in Engineering Field or appropriate fields.
• 2 to 4 years work-related experience in the EMS or equivalent industry.
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes and tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• To ensures / perform all process activities are carrying out accordingly.
• To improve yield through updates/changes/retrofit of equipment /processes.
• To maintain a thorough knowledge and in-depth field experience on PCBA to meet company's goals.
• To adapt effective advanced manufacturing technologies and apply them.
• To continuously improve product cycle time by means of process and equipment.
• To handle process related issues on printing, dispenser, placement, reflow oven, wave soldering wash machine, also jig and fixture.
• To perform newly set-up Equipment / line buy-off.
• To buy off during NPI run and attend all process related issues.
• Provide continuous improvement in SMT process.
• To provide solution for Top 3 defect triggering and assist ME to achieve FPY target.
• To maintain the reflow oven, wave soldering and wash machine pallet and basket.
• Assist ME II to buy-off Packout program for all codes.
• To verify and alter programming changes to Packout system (apply to Impcon-Lite only), prior approval from ME II.
• Others Packout system related problem, the Process Technician will contact IT department (when necessary).
• To continuously improve product cycle time by means of process and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
• Provide support to ME Engineer II to achieve ME KPI.
• Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the superior from time to time.

Job description

The Product Engineer will be knowledgeable of the basic processes and facilitate other engineers at the site. This individual is also responsible for the implementation, support, training, and troubleshooting for the process being assigned in their facility. This position is assigned to an individual who has the profile to understand the scope of all the manufacturing chain process and the implications of each change and be considered to be a leader within the engineering team. The Product Engineer is responsible for ensuring excellence on the assigned manufacturing process, as determined by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requires Advanced Diploma, Bachelors, or Masters in Engineering Field or appropriate fields;

Experienced ME Engineer: 2 to 4 years work-related experience in the EMS or equivalent industry; Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
