Job summary

A leading educational institution in Johor Bahru is searching for a Mathematics & Science Teacher for primary and kindergarten grades. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and teaching experience in Maths and/or Science. Mathematics & Science Teacher (Primary/Kindergarten) - (ID: 690515)

Roles & Responsibilities: The teacher shall report to the Principal and Deputy Principal and is responsible for carrying out professional duties in accordance with the school’s policies and as directed by school leadership.

Pedagogy
  • Building learning-focused relationships
  • Empowering children to become or prepare to be independent learners
  • Using assessment information to plan progression for the differing needs of learners in class
  • Using appropriate assessment tools for formative and summative assessment
  • Providing high-quality feedback to learners
  • Encouraging children to reflect on their learning
  • Engaging children in the construction of their learning processes
  • Involving parents in their children's learning through regular parent-teacher dialogue
  • Using relevant ICT to improve student learning and differentiate instruction
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
  • Demonstrating a high level of relevant curriculum knowledge
  • Incorporating relevant thinking and reflective skills into the curriculum
  • Preparing and presenting informative reports to parents and other stakeholders as required
  • Teaching all elementary grades in the school

Other Projects, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Having a working knowledge of teachers' professional duties and legal liabilities

  • Setting a good example through presentation, personal, and professional conduct
  • Co-operating with other staff to ensure sharing and effective usage of resources for the benefit of the school and learners

  • Taking part in marketing and liaison activities such as Open Days and stakeholder events

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or related field.
  • Teaching experience in Maths and/or Science, preferably in primary/elementary school.
  • Strong command of English for instruction and communication.
  • Knowledge of modern teaching methods and use of ICT in classrooms.
  • Ability to plan lessons, assess students, and provide feedback.
