Job summary

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner of choice located in Prai, Penang, seeking a Materials Planning Manager to lead material planning, distribution, inventory control and supply chain activities.

You will direct staff, optimize purchasing, and ensure timely, cost-efficient material delivery while upholding quality. Travel as required is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Minimum of 8 years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manage, control, and direct distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Manage, control, and direct staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, maintaining quality standards.
• Negotiate customer expectations to meet satisfaction and direct staff accordingly.
• Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• Maintain accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.
• Ensure proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Review and approve purchase orders and change notices.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Disposal of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Planning Manager located in Prai, Penang.

Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all of the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

What a typical day looks like:

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manages, controls, and directs the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Manages, controls, and directs staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensures the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
• Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
• Coordinates with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• In charge of accurate inventory cycle counts, and controls.
• Provides for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Reviews, plans, and approves purchase orders and change notices.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• In charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.
