A leading retail group in home furnishing is seeking a Marketing Manager to develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for their new mall in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in mall marketing, strong leadership skills, and proven success in event planning and social media management. Fluency in English and another language is essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape local retail dynamics.
My client is a leading China-listed home furnishing and building materials retail group, operating over 400 large-scale shopping malls across China. In 2024, they began expanding globally, successfully launching stores in Macau and Cambodia. Now, the group is bringing its renowned one-stop home furnishing shopping concept to Malaysia — aiming to elevate local home living quality through an integrated retail experience of furniture, décor, renovation, and lifestyle.
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to increase mall visibility and customer traffic.
Conceptualize and execute campaigns that highlight home furnishing mall’s unique and lifestyle offerings.
Plan, organize, and manage on-ground promotional activities, exhibitions, seasonal events, and brand collaborations.
Coordinate with tenants, media partners, and event agencies to ensure successful delivery of mall events.
Manage and grow the mall’s presence on Xiaohongshu (小红书), Facebook, Instagram, and other digital platforms.
Create engaging content and collaborate with influencers or KOLs to enhance brand exposure and community engagement.
Build, train, and lead a high-performing marketing team to execute campaigns efficiently.
Oversee marketing budgets, performance metrics, and ROI analysis.
Analyze local retail and mall marketing trends, drawing inspiration from successful malls such as Sunway Pyramid, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, IOI City Mall, TRX & etc.
Continuously propose creative strategies to differentiate client’s Mall in the Malaysian retail landscape.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8-10 years at a senior position in mall or retail marketing, with at least 3-5 years in managerial capacity, preferably within shopping centres, property development, or lifestyle brands.
Proven track record in event marketing, social media management, and brand activation.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication in English, Mandarin, and/or Bahasa Malaysia.
Creative, data-driven, and resourceful with strong stakeholder management ability.
