Job summary

OCBC Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Manager, Market Risk Management to monitor risk exposures across the trading book, analyse sensitivities, and support risk-management activities.

You will work with Front Office and risk teams, monitor limits, prepare dashboards and reports, and help develop automation using Excel, Power BI, VBA or Python. A strong analytical mindset and a degree in finance, economics or math are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; VBA or Python knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Risk analysis: analyse market risk exposures, risk sensitivities and key drivers.
• Front Office engagement: build relationships with Front Office to understand trading activities and hedging.
• Limit monitoring & escalation: monitor risk limits, investigate exceptions, escalate as needed.
• Risk reporting: prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and risk committees.
• Data analytics & visualization: support large datasets and develop reporting tools for risk monitoring.
• Process enhancement & automation: identify opportunities to improve reporting and automate processes.
