Job summary

A leading marine inspection company is seeking a Marine Team Lead for NDT-UTTG Hull Gauging in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role requires 2 years of marine inspection experience, strong NDT knowledge, and valid certifications. You will lead a team in Ultrasonic Thickness Testing, prepare detailed inspection reports, and collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards. Leadership experience is preferred, alongside proficiency in AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Valid and relevant NDT certifications.

Job description

We are looking for a Malaysian Marine NDT Technician with 2 years’ experience in marine inspections under different classes to take on the role of Marine Team Lead – NDT-UTTG Hull Gauging.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team performing Ultrasonic Thickness Testing Gauging (UTTG) on marine hulls in accordance with class survey requirements
• Prepare and compile inspection reports as per ship classification society standards (ABS, DNV, BV, NK, SCM, RINA, etc.)
• Collaborate with the Project Engineer on project scope, deliverables, and timelines
• Ensure inspections comply with safety and technical standards
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and class surveyors to ensure smooth project execution

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience in NDT UTTG for marine hull inspections
• Strong understanding of class survey processes and reporting standards
• Valid and relevant NDT certifications
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage
