Job Description

Overview

Cricut (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced and versatile Manufacturing Software & Test Development Engineer who will be responsible for testing and qualifying software used in Cricut software and factory station automation, as well as developing test fixtures during the NPI stage to support New Product Development.

Responsibilities
  • The individual will be responsible for working alongside product development teams to validate the software designed by Cricut TDE.
  • Work collaboratively across departments, providing early involvement support such as Design for Testability (DFT), RFQ, Equipment/test schedules and process test input for new product designs during the NPI stage.
  • Daily assignments will include testing the software and reporting bugs to the TDE team back at headquarters in the US.
  • Be responsible for testing new hardware products & applications and communicating with development teams.
  • Develop and execute an organized test plan to release high-quality products to market and production lines on schedule; integrate with hardware fixtures and run automation test suites.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the software development life cycle, fixture experience on testing techniques, and experience working with factory lines.

Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in EE/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4 to 6 years of related experience in software development and fixture development preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in desktop (stand-alone) and web-based software development.
  • Experience in testing iOS and Android applications.
  • Experience in testing software interacting with hardware.
  • Experience working with manufacturers to implement and integrate software to test stations for calibration and testing hardware functions.
  • Experience in investigating and analyzing logs, debugging software issues, finding root causes, and recommending mitigation plans.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical design, power, electronics control circuit, sensors, robotics is required.
  • Practical day-to-day experience using a 3D solid modelling CAD package; Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Project management and supplier relationship skills are a must.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills; additional traits include innovation, accountability, attention to detail, initiative, and continuous improvement.
  • Aptitude for collaboration and communicating with teammates globally; ability to bridge organizational boundaries.
