Job summary

Texas Instruments in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Engineer to manage supplier performance and assurance across materials, components, and production. This role focuses on audits, containment, and driving improvements within a global manufacturing context.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, up to 2 years in quality roles, and familiarity with semiconductor quality standards. On-site Melaka location with opportunities to grow in a leading semiconductor company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree CGPA 3.3 or above
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience
• Quality engineering in semiconductor industry is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor supplier quality performance including PPM, yield, reject rates and customer complaints
• Establish and maintain supplier quality requirements and specifications
• Conduct supplier audits and process assessments
• Perform in-house buy off/inspection of incoming materials, components prior release to production
• Support new supplier qualifications and evaluations
• Lead investigation of incoming material and supplier-related quality issues
• Work with suppliers to identify failure mechanisms and establish effective containment
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement and manufacturing for lot disposition
• Drive continuous improvement projects with suppliers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related engineering degrees.
• Minimum CGPA 3.3 and above
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experiences
• Candidates with quality engineering in semiconductor industry will be added advantage

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 relevant quality standards is preferred.
• Semiconductor package/lead frame/substrate/molding/plating knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Analytical mindset with risk-based thinking.
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
• Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
• Familiar with Spotfire, 8D, Root cause analysis techniques, Quality Management System will be an added advantage
