We are looking for a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Senior Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the company’s Quality Function and Quality Management Systems in line with company’s global Quality objectives, ensuring that internal processes and metrics are aligned to create highest product quality and competitive advantage.

Impact You Will Make

• Manage the Quality function supporting the manufacturing of a variety of products in Melaka and at multiple Contract Manufacturers. Drive Quality towards Zero defects.
• Build strong relationships with customers.
• Assure Product Quality is in conformance with customer expectations, engineering specifications and regulatory requirements and effectively relates the Quality function to the business as a whole.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of Quality policies and processes company-wide driving improvements and into supply chain while meeting customer requirements.
• Prepare regular performance and management reports and act as facilitator for Senior Management Quality Review Meetings.
• Facilitate internal customer/ supplier quality reporting process and customer quality action team meetings.
• Prepare and execute corrective action and improvement plans, focusing on reducing rework, scrap and warranty.
• Develop and enhance quality department through selection process, performance management and quality-related training.
• Responsible for the compliance with global corporate social responsibility, environmental, certification requirements, customer audits, supplier code of conduct, sustainability, and compliance such as CSR, GRI, EICC, ISO and various supply chain transparency obligations.
• Facilitate the development and documentation of quality processes along with driving ongoing continuous improvement in the Melaka facility.
• Responsible for the management of large associate teams.
• Manage, develop and review the performance of the Management Team to achieve the desired outcomes.
• Lead and coach your team. Build your successor.
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures and legislative compliances.
• Contribute to the development, execution and management of the operational budget.
• Look after the welfare of subordinates, which includes performance appraisal, training, counselling and motivation.
• Review the current overall quality capability systematically and technically and render coaching, plan for improvement in Melaka.
• Update management of current development in quality that can be adopted to Cohu.
• Advise on quality for any practices or actions that are not in line with Cohu roadmap or business model.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Education: B.S. in Engineering (Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical), Operations Management or closely related field. Master’s degree a plus. Training/ certifications in quality through ASQ or other international quality organizations a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of ten years’ direct leadership experience in semiconductor equipment, precision electromechanical, robotic equipment, and/ or PC/ electronic equipment manufacturing - functioning in a technologist role. Experience should include at least five years of management-level responsibility for quality. Experience operating successfully in a matrix organization is required. Proven track record working with global supply chains and multinational companies also required.
• Skills/ Technical Requirements: Working knowledge of probability and statistical management tools, Design for Quality (DFx), 6 Sigma, 8D and program management are needed to attain a comprehensive quality program in an environment of intense deadlines and customer pressures to deliver quality product on time and within budget. Must possess related experience in Quality Systems Management including strong knowledge of conformance, documentation, implementation and registration processes for ISO9001 and industry and customer related Quality Standards. Must be highly energetic, work well under pressure and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must have proven skills at interfacing with customers and suppliers. Intermediate to advanced MS office skills.
• Job Condition: Work in office as well as manufacturing/ lab environment. Domestic and international travel required up to 20%.
