Smiths Detection in Johor, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team. You will manage fixed assets, costing, inventory and reporting in SAP, partnering with production and procurement to optimize financial performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance with professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of finance and accounting experience.
• Strong SAP experience and manufacturing industry exposure.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting, costing, fixed assets and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset accounting in SAP, depreciation, asset tagging, audits and Capex tracking.
• Oversee inventory accounting activities including stock adjustments and valuation.
• Perform cost centre spend analysis, variance reporting and forecasting.
• Partner with operations to drive corrective actions and improve performance.
• Support month-end close, accruals, FX revaluation and management reporting.
• Monitor inventory metrics and assist with AR/AP aging and working capital.
