Job summary

Western Digital Corp. is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Technician - Equipment in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize manufacturing equipment to support production and maximize uptime.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, calibration, and collaboration with production teams. A Diploma in Engineering and PLC/CAD/CMMS familiarity are preferred; candidates must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a cleanroom

Qualifications

Proven experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical systems knowledge.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Preventive and predictive maintenance principles.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on manufacturing equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions using analytical skills and technical knowledge, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs, equipment records, and technical documentation to track service history and performance metrics.
Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules and manufacturer specifications.
Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational standards.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize equipment downtime and support production schedules.
Identify opportunities for equipment optimization and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
Assist with equipment installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery.
Provide technical support and guidance to production staff on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
