About the Role:
The Transformation & Sustainability role supports the implementation of the Bank’s transformation, sustainability, and social finance initiatives in alignment with its strategic goals and Islamic principles. The role focuses on driving projects and activities that improve operational effectiveness, promote sustainable practices, and advance social finance programs that deliver positive social and environmental outcomes. The incumbent will assist in coordinating initiatives across business units, conducting data analysis, preparing reports, and engaging internal and external stakeholders to embed transformation, sustainability, and social finance values throughout the Bank’s operations.
What will you do:
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive sustainability and transformation strategies aligned with the Bank\'s overall strategic objectives and Islamic finance principles.
- Translate strategic plans into actionable projects and initiatives, ensuring effective execution and timely delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability and transformation initiatives, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends and best practices in sustainability, transformation and social finance within the Islamic banking sector.
- Contribute to the development of frameworks and policies related to sustainability transformation, and social finance.
- Drive and manage projects focused on achieving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives, in alignment with Islamic values.
- Implement and promote sustainable practices across all operational areas to reduce the organization\'s carbon footprint and environmental impact.
- Conduct impact assessments and identify opportunities for improvement in sustainability performance, including resource efficiency, waste management, and sustainable financing.
- Develop and implement initiatives related to social responsibility, community engagement, and ethical business practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental and social regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement social finance programs that align with Islamic principles and contribute to positive social impact.
- Identify and evaluate social finance opportunities, including microfinance, waqf management, zakat distribution, and impact investing.
- Manage and monitor the performance of social finance initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including NGOs, community organizations, and government agencies, to deliver effective social finance programs.
- Promote awareness and understanding of social finance within the bank and the wider community.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed transformation initiatives effectively, ensuring seamless integration and adoption.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and communication programs to drive cultural and operational changes related to sustainability, transformation and social finance.
- Develop and implement change management plans to address resistance and ensure successful implementation of new processes and technologies.
- Act as a change agent, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including business units, departments, and senior management, to promote and integrate sustainability, transformation and social finance efforts.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, clients, investors, and community organizations, to build relationships and promote the Bank\'s sustainability commitments.
- Manage communications and reporting to regulators, clients, and the public regarding the Bank\'s ESG commitments and performance, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Represent the Bank in industry forums, conferences, and events related to sustainability and Islamic finance.
- Analyze data related to sustainability and transformation initiatives to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain robust data management systems and reporting frameworks to track and monitor sustainability performance.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for management and board committees on sustainability and transformation progress, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of ESG data to relevant stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and rating agencies.
- Utilize data visualization tools and techniques to communicate complex information effectively.

- The job holder may also be required to undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Immediate Leader or Head of Division consistent with the role\'s scope and level of authority.
Skills and experience you possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Islamic Finance, or any relevant field.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sustainability, transformation, or related fields, preferably within the financial services industry, especially Islamic Banking.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, sustainability frameworks, and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD), and social finance principles.
- Knowledge of Islamic finance principles and their application to sustainability and social finance initiatives.
- Proven experience in project management, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of Malaysian regulatory requirements related to sustainability, social finance and financial services.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
