Job summary

SD Guthrie International is seeking a Manager, Tax to lead tax planning, advisory, and compliance for business units in Malaysia. The role requires deep knowledge of Malaysian taxation and a strong drive to deliver results.

You will identify tax risks, develop governance processes, and guide operating units on complex tax issues while enhancing overall tax reporting quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in finance/accounting.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian taxation; indirect tax or TP knowledge an advantage.
• Customer-oriented with a drive for results.

Responsibilities

• Understand business operations and identify tax issues arising from transactions and discussions.
• Provide tax planning opportunities, manage tax risks, and implement process controls for compliance and governance.
• Prepare tax advisory on business transactions.
• Identify and highlight tax risk issues for necessary action; research technical issues to advise operating units.
• Portfolio management and strategic planning for tax functions.
• Provide guidance and assistance to operating units to ensure tax compliance; raise tax awareness among finance personnel.
