As a Category Manager for Technology, you will manage strategic sourcing, vendor and contract management for Technology category. The role focuses on optimising sourcing strategies, managing high-value contracts, and strengthening supplier performance. It requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Finance, Legal, and other relevant teams. Operational excellence, process improvement, and risk mitigation are key components of success. The Category Manager (Technology) will contribute to the SVCM team strategies for building a scalable, future‑ready sourcing, vendor and contract management framework, ensuring commercial excellence, supplier performance, governance compliance, and scalability for future technology growth for the company.
How you would make a difference:
Strategic Sourcing, Vendor and Contract Management
You will align category strategies with business growth, optimise vendor relationships, and champion sourcing excellence across the Technology function. You will manage both strategic sourcing and the contract management in your in‑scope category to deliver measurable value, manage risk, and ensure scalable operations.
Sourcing and category management strategies. Spearhead the development and implementation of Technology sourcing and category strategies, driving savings, risk mitigation, and operational improvements. Lead license compliance monitoring, in alignment with AH’s technology governance and T&Cs obligations.
Lead end‑to‑end Technology sourcing events including RFPs, evaluations, strategic negotiations, supplier selection, and contract execution.
Optimise the supply base by identifying consolidation opportunities, rationalising vendor partnerships, and right‑sizing supplier relationships where appropriate.
Take ownership of contract management processes, ensuring commercial strength, risk control, compliance, and scalability.
Deliver measurable outcomes through both hard and soft savings, ensuring sourcing initiatives directly contribute to business objectives.
Maintain an external view of supplier innovations, technology buying trends, and evolving sourcing practices to future‑prove Technology category strategies.
Act as a sourcing thought leader by bringing commercial rigour, market intelligence, and innovation into sourcing practices.
Ensure vendors deliver value, meet contractual obligations, and actively support the Amplify Health’s operational and strategic success.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, escalates issues when necessary, and manage remediation plans.
Lead complex Technology vendor negotiations that align to business goals, ensuring commercial terms deliver sustained operational value.
Stakeholder Management:
Strong cross‑functional collaboration is essential to ensure sourcing strategies align with business objectives, risk frameworks, and operational needs. You will serve as a connector across functions, ensuring transparency, alignment, and proactive sourcing leadership.
Collaborate closely with Technology team, other senior sourcing managers, business stakeholders, and category leads across Amplify Health and AIA Group to ensure critical Technology sourcing/contracting activities are fully supported.
Build and maintain strong credibility by driving results through collaboration, transparency, and strategic stakeholder alignment.
Communicate sourcing plans, project updates, and vendor performance insights effectively across internal stakeholders, adapting messaging to executive, functional, and operational audiences.
Serve as the subject matter expert on Technology sourcing standards, Technology category management frameworks.
Promote internal sourcing and contract management education by sharing Technology category process updates, best practices, and sourcing maturity initiatives across user departments.
Operational Excellence
This role also plays a critical part in building Technology sourcing process excellence, governance discipline, and internal sourcing maturity. You will help optimise operations to enable future scalability and stronger category execution.
Improve sourcing and contracting workflows to enhance operational efficiency and turnaround times for Technology Category.
Strengthen renewal planning processes with Technology Contract Owners to ensure proactive expiry management and timely re‑negotiations.
Identify Technology Category new contract, or renewal process bottlenecks, pain points, and governance gaps within the sourcing and contract lifecycle; propose solutions.
Create and maintain Technology Category sourcing guidelines and playbook to ensure consistency and strategic alignment.
Develop and maintain Technology Category templates (e.g., SoW templates, vendor evaluation scorecards, renewal assessment checklists).
Support sourcing governance reporting where necessary, helping track expiry status, sourcing events pipeline, and vendor compliance.
What you need to be successful
Min 8 years of experience in Technology category management and procurement operations roles. Extensive experience in category management in a global capacity, preferably within Technology or Health Tech Sector.
Proven track record in managing Technology category strategies from development to execution, including stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management.
Strategic with strong hands‑on execution skills — you can build frameworks and operationalise them.
Motivated, high‑energy, curious, self‑starter and strong business mindset.
Strong knowledge with sourcing/contracting tools and platforms.
Deep understanding of IT contract models, licensing frameworks, and buying channels, particularly in cloud, SaaS, software, and infrastructure services.
Solid knowledge of Technology category’s external market dynamics, supplier relationship models, and industry sourcing trends.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in cost benchmarking, supplier financial review, and managing contractual risk.
Ability to assess business value, prioritise SVCM initiatives based on strategic importance, and anticipate implementation challenges.
Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and business partners.
Resilient under pressure; capable of managing multiple sourcing and contracting initiatives simultaneously in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
Experience navigating matrix organisations across global and regional teams, with the ability to influence. Possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and compelling sourcing recommendations.
