Job summary

AirAsia is seeking a Manager, Scheduling to lead the development and optimization of flight schedules for AirAsia and AirAsia X. You will oversee a team, ensure accurate publication of schedules on airasia.com and Navitaire, and drive revenue through strategic planning and operational excellence.

You will manage cross-functional collaboration across departments, balance fleet and slot constraints, and mentor the team to achieve KPIs while delivering high-quality service and on-time performance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of airline planning and scheduling experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership/people management experience.
  • Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of AirAsia's flight schedules to optimize operational and economic performance.
  • Oversee publication of schedules across platforms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage scheduling team performance, KPIs, and development.
  • Coordinate with Preflight and other departments on schedule changes and rescheduling.
  • Drive revenue opportunities by aligning schedules with demand, holidays and events.
  • Ensure compliance with airport slots, fleet changes, and charter schedules.
  • Communicate schedule plans and changes to internal and external stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Manager, Scheduling you will lead and oversee the development of AirAsia's and/or AirAsia X flight schedules, both economically and operationally optimized. You will ensure all operational parameters and constraints are met, ensuring that the schedules produced are feasible while driving the performance of your team. This role includes overseeing the accurate publication of flight schedules across various platforms, including airasia.com and the Navitaire reservations system, and ensuring the quality of service delivery from the team.

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

Team Leadership & Performance Management: You will manage a team of one or more, providing guidance, leadership, and development. You'll monitor the team's performance closely, setting clear KPIs, and ensuring that these targets are met. You will conduct regular performance reviews and identify growth opportunities for team members, fostering a high-performing, results-driven culture.

Short Term & Long Term Schedule Development: You will lead the creation and distribution of aircraft routing solutions for AirAsia’s widebody and narrowbody network, ensuring operational feasibility and alignment with business goals. This includes overseeing the team’s scheduling processes and providing direction on operational priorities.

Annual Budget Schedule Development: You will take a more prominent role in developing and aligning the company’s yearly budget into flight schedules, working closely with senior leadership and other departments to ensure alignment with business strategy.

Slots Management: You will befiling as well as overseeing the management & monitoring of the slot portfolio at all airports.

Inventory Management: You will be responsible for transitioning the flight schedule from planning to live mode by uploading and updating the information in the Schedule Manager (New Skies). Additionally, you will coordinate with the Preflight team during flight rescheduling.

Maximizing Revenue: You will be responsible for driving the implementation of strategic flight schedules, optimizing revenue generation opportunities by aligning schedules with holidays, demand patterns, and special events. You will lead efforts to capitalize on business opportunities and revenue maximization.

Operational Excellence: You will evaluate and lead the implementation of fleet changes, special events, and charter schedules, ensuring that all operational requirements are met while supporting AirAsia’s overall business goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work closely with other operational teams to balance operational, financial, and efficiency objectives, ensuring a streamlined approach to schedule management and driving the team towards achieving company goals.

Stakeholder Communication: You will lead and facilitate clear communication regarding future flight schedules to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency across all teams and departments.
