PwC Malaysia seeks a Manager in the Independence Office within the RISQ team to oversee independence-related processes and ensure regulatory compliance. You will promote a strong quality culture across the firm and collaborate with various teams to embed independence considerations in business operations.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in accounting, business or law; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
• At least five years of relevant working experience in multinational companies, preferably in compliance or regulatory roles within professional services.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to convey complex information clearly.

Our main functions are to effectively manage and mitigate regulatory, independence, and reputational risk to protect the firm's brand and value. This is achieved through the development, dissemination, and monitoring of policies, procedures, and programs.

As a Manager in the Independence Office, you will play a critical role in overseeing independence-related processes and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with various teams to provide guidance and support, fostering an environment of integrity and accountability. Your role will also involve collaborating with the practice to promote and embed a strong quality culture within the professional services our firm offers, considering the regulated and business environment in which we operate.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Leadership & Guidance: Lead and mentor a team of independence professionals, providing guidance on complex independence matters and promoting a culture of compliance and quality.


• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable independence standards and regulations. Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and advise on necessary adjustments to our procedures.


• Policy Implementation: Oversee the implementation of independence policies and procedures. Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure these policies are understood and consistently applied. Manage independence-related compliance testing activities and projects.


• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve independence-related issues and queries from engagement teams. Provide thoughtful analysis and recommendations to mitigate risks.


• Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of independence requirements across the firm. Coordinate and support preparation for periodic Independence and RISQ training.


• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments to integrate independence considerations into broader business processes and initiatives. Partner with the practice to promote a strong quality culture.


• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on independence activities, ensuring transparency and accountability. Monitor data metrics for periodic reports and review them for exception reporting. Support reporting to Leadership.


• Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas and identify areas for improvement on a continuous basis.
