Job Summary

The Manager, Public Relations leads all PR initiatives to elevate Ascott’s brand visibility and reputation across Malaysia. This role manages media relations, public communications, brand storytelling, and supports key marketing and commercial activities. Working closely with the Marcom and Sales teams, the PR Manager ensures consistent brand positioning, maximizes publicity for events and campaigns, and strengthens Ascott’s presence within the hospitality and lifestyle media landscape.

Key Responsibilities
Public Relations & Communications
  • Develop PR strategies to strengthen brand awareness across Ascott Malaysia.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases, media statements, and communication materials.
  • Build strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and media partners.
  • Monitor media trends and identify opportunities for exposure.
Media & Press Engagement
  • Approach and engage media, press, and influencers for coverage and collaborations.
  • Organize media visits, press conferences, interviews, and FAM trips.
  • Act as the main contact for media enquiries.
Brand Events & Campaign Support
  • Work with Marcom and Sales to plan and execute events and brand initiatives.
  • Invite and manage media attendance to maximize publicity.
  • Prepare post-event reports and coverage summaries.
Content & Messaging
  • Align PR messaging with brand direction and marketing content.
  • Support storytelling on properties, partnerships, and guest experiences.
  • Ensure communication follows global brand standards.
Crisis Communication
  • Support crisis response with accurate statements and coordinated messaging.
  • Assist in developing contingency communication when needed.
