Job summary

A leading chemical engineering firm in Bintulu, Malaysia is seeking an experienced professional to lead teams and manage safety in a polysilicon/chemical plant. The role requires a degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of practical experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a willingness to work shifts and an understanding of chemical processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in the polysilicon/chemical plant.
  • General and special understanding of chemical plant equipment and process.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and overtime if required.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Holding a valid Technologist Title under the Malaysian Board of Technologists is an added advantage.

  • Provide clear direction and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate team performance.
  • Track and improve processes using Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Monitor KPIs (downtime, maintenance cost, reliability).
  • Lead or participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP studies.
  • Support identification and management of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs).
  • Manage CAPEX projects (budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation).
