Manager, Strategic Planning & Investor Relations
Requirements
Job Purpose
- The role supports the formulation and execution of Sime Darby Property's corporate strategy, business performance monitoring, and investor engagement to multiply value for people, businesses, economies, and the planet.
- Working closely with Business Units ("BUs") and functional departments, the incumbent drives strategic planning alignment, supports high-impact growth and investment initiatives, and enhances long-term value creation. The role also partners with the Head of Investor Relations to implement the Group's Investor Relations (IR) Framework, ensuring clear and consistent communication of Sime Darby Property's investment proposition, performance, and strategic outlook to the investment community.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
Group-wide Planning & Strategy
- Support the formulation and cascading of corporate and business strategies, ensuring alignment across all Business Units (BUs), subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associates.
- Coordinate the Group's annual strategic planning cycle and facilitate effective monitoring and reporting of business and financial performance.
- Identify key issues, risks, and improvement areas to drive achievement of strategic and financial targets.
- Prepare and review management and governance reports, including submissions to the Group Managing Committee (GMC), Group Managing Director (GMD), Special Committees, and the Board of Directors.
Performance Management
- Deploy and track balanced scorecards and KPIs to measure performance against strategic objectives.
- Monitor BU and Group-level results to provide insights and recommend corrective actions where required.
Programme Management
- Support the development of short to medium-term strategic and tactical initiatives to enhance financial and operational performance.
- Assist in managing and coordinating key transformation and improvement programmes across the Group.
Investor Relations
- Formulate and implement the Group's Investor Relations (IR) Framework to effectively communicate Sime Darby Property's investment proposition and strengthen engagement with investors and shareholders.
- Lead IR activities including analyst briefings, conferences, roadshows, and investor meetings, ensuring consistent delivery of key corporate messages.
- Prepare high-quality IR materials, presentations, and reports, providing market insights, peer benchmarking, and investor feedback to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate on the Annual Report, maintain the IR website, and build strong relationships with analysts and institutional investors to enhance the Group's visibility and credibility.
Education / Professional Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent.
- Receipt of a professional certification in Real Estate, Accounting or Finance is an added advantage.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in real estate, strategy / management consulting and/or corporate finance / investment management.
