Job summary

Maersk Contract Logistics in Shah Alam, Malaysia, seeks an Operations Excellence Manager to translate operational challenges into scalable digital solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in operations excellence, process improvement, digital transformation, business systems, automation, analytics or solution delivery; logistics, warehousing, 3PL or supply chain experience preferred.
• Hands-on capability in Python, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI, with working knowledge of data modelling, Power Query, DAX, APIs, SQL, SharePoint or Dataverse.
• Fluent spoken and written English; strong facilitation, project management and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational and functional stakeholders to define business problems, user needs, process constraints and expected outcomes.
• Create solution scopes, user journeys, process flows, data requirements, integration considerations, high-level designs and delivery roadmaps.
• Design, develop and enhance operational applications and workflows using Python, Power Apps and Power Automate, with testing, documentation and version control.
• Build Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, connecting and transforming data into clear metrics and visuals.
• Apply Lean, value stream mapping and root cause analysis to select interventions and validate benefits.
• Lead workshops, prototyping, user acceptance testing, deployment, handover and solution stabilisation while managing milestones and risks.
• Maintain solution documentation, user guides, support models and monitor adoption and retirement of obsolete solutions.

The Operations Excellence Manager is responsible for implementing and continually enhancing operational standards for health and safety, 5S and visual management, performance management, process management, and continuous improvement.

This role encompasses implementing and deploying site labor and equipment management tools, conducting operational improvement studies, and providing employee training on Lean principles.

We are looking for a Manager, Operations Excellence (Solutions Architecture) to join Maersk Contract Logistics in Shah Alam, Malaysia. In this role, you will translate operational challenges and improvement opportunities into practical, scalable digital solutions. You will combine Operations Excellence methods with solution design, software automation, data analytics and change adoption to simplify work, improve visibility, strengthen controls and deliver measurable value across warehouse and logistics operations.

• Work on digital initiatives that improve warehouse and logistics operations through process simplification, automation and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions, connecting and transforming approved data into clear metrics, models and actionable visualisations.
• Apply Lean, process mapping, value stream mapping, root cause analysis and structured problem solving to select fit‑for‑purpose interventions and validate benefits.
• Lead requirements workshops, prototyping, user acceptance testing, deployment, handover and solution stabilisation while managing milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Maintain solution documentation, user guides, support models and change records, and monitor adoption, performance, enhancement needs and retirement of obsolete solutions.

• Fluent spoken and written English, an independent and practical working style, and willingness to travel interstate or overseas for agreed project assignments when required.
